About Aatrox Counters
Aatrox Counters is an independent League of Legends resource focused on one job: telling you exactly who counters a champion, why, and what to do about it — without burying that answer under ads and unrelated content.
What we build
Every champion page covers best counters, worst matchups, lane-phase gold data, build and rune guidance, and the strengths and weaknesses that actually decide the matchup. We started with Aatrox as our flagship guide and are expanding role by role and champion by champion.
How our data works today
Right now, the win-rate and gold-difference numbers you see are produced by our own stats engine: a deterministic, seeded computation layer that simulates matchup samples from target values we research per champion, then aggregates them the same way a live match-data pipeline would. We label this clearly on every page it appears — it is not live Riot match data yet.
We built it this way deliberately: it lets us ship a complete, consistent site architecture now, with a clean seam to swap in real match data from the Riot Games API once our access is approved, without rewriting how any page works.
Editorial approach
- Matchup reasoning (abilities, trade windows, build paths) is researched from real champion kits, not generated generically.
- We do not publish invented win-rate tables for picks with genuinely negligible play rate (e.g. off-role picks) — we say so instead.
- Every page states its last-verified patch so you know how current the guidance is.
